Brugha Duffy operates his family’s suckler and beef cattle farm in Co. Meath on a part time basis, he is also a mechanical engineer and has worked across a variety of industries ranging from semiconductor manufacturing, pharmaceutical, waste to energy and power generation.
In 2020 Brugha and his business partner Donal Hartford started the planning application process for an agricultural anaerobic digester located on Donal’s farm near Duleek village in Co. Meath in partnership with CarbonAMS and were granted planning permission in 2022.
Proposed plant will inject biomethane into the national gas distribution grid, supply biogenic CO2 to consumers and will incorporate a digestate nutrient recovery facility when operational.
